Throughout the year there are always birds to watch and photograph, especially the waterfowl. During November you will see the Trumpeter Swans resting on the lake before their long migration south. Late May and early June offer wonderful opportunities to see the song birds which have just arrived back to nest in the Boreal Forest. The cottage is surrounded by old growth forest. As you stroll the trails you might glimpse a deer or a porcupine.

Summer is wonderful at the lake but winter really is special too. At Christmas the snow surrounds the house and it is quiet and snug. The ice fisherman are busy catching Perch, Northern Pike or Whitefish out on the frozen lake. The trails are wonderful to cross country ski or snowshoe on.

At the end of the day take in a movie at Barrhead, or for a change of pace why not make the easy drive into West Edmonton Mall, the worlds largest shopping center.
