La Maison Arabe is a legendary and one-of-a-kind place, located in one of the most beautiful recesses of the medina of Marrakech, in the shadow of the famous Bab Doukkala Mosque. It began as a Moroccan restaurant, founded in the 1940's by two adventurous and extraordinary French women. An evening at La Maison Arabe was on the "must-do" list of international travellers in search of those rare, magical places where emotions and sensations seem to eclipse time.

Now a beautifully restored hotel, that same spirit still reigns at La Maison Arabe.

Although as a luxury hotel La Maison Arabe deliberately preserves a certain discretion, it is nonetheless easy to find --the address is well known due to its legendary status! Nestled in the romantic medina, the hotel is a brief walk from the Koutoubia and the Jemaa El Fna square, and only a minute away from the Guéliz, the business and banking district of Marrakech.
The hotel offers a choice of 17 rooms & suites, several with fireplaces. Each is unique in its layout, design and decor.

The rooms are air conditioned, as well as centrally heated for the cool winter evenings.

Several rooms and suites have private terraces planted with jasmine, oleander or bougainvillea ; the perfect place to read, enjoy a drink under the stars, or savor a delicious Moroccan or continental breakfast brought to your room.
Known in the past as one of the most famous and legendary restaurants of the African continent, La Maison Arabe today offers cooking workshops designed for the amateur and professional alike - for anyone who wishes to discover the pleasures of Moroccan cooking and to become familiar with one of the great cuisines of the world.
A translator (Arabic, English, French) provides detailed preparation and cooking instructions. At the end of each workshop, participants dine on the meal they have prepared on a private patio in the shade of an olive or fig tree.
