COTTAGE VILLA VACATION RENTAL North of KAIKOURA - South of BLENHEIM - NEW ZEALAND.
Woodside Cottage is nestled beneath Benmore Hill on the northern tip of the Southern Alps, overlooking the spectacular scenic Kaikoura coast line.
Situated near State Highway 1, 45 minutes north of Kaikoura and 45 minutes south of Blenheim.
From Woodside, you can visit the fascinating seal colony at Black Rock, only a quarter of an hour walk down to the beach from the cottage.
If you enjoy a great cup of coffee and wonderful food in a relaxed environment, the award winning cafe, The Store, is only a five minute drive away. 'The Store' is open seven days a week and is also open for evening dining.
Nearby, there are nature walks and local gardens which are open to the public.
The cottage has two attractive, comfortable bedrooms with self contained bathroom facilities. There is one twin room and one double room. Try our complimentary home made biscuits and real coffee as there are full kitchen and laundry facilities. We have recently added an extra room in the refurbished cottage annexe. The room has a king size bed and enjoys restful sea views. Being able to accommodate 6 guests enables you to enjoy a fun weekend with friends.
If fishing for fun or serious angling is your pastime or passion, we can organise fishing trips with local angler, Sam The Man.
Woodside Cottage is close to both Kaikoura and the Marlborough region. Kaikoura offers tourists the chance to view whales in their natural habitat with daily whale watching encounters by boat or plane. For the more extreme nature experience, you can swim with the sharks. In the Winter months, take time to unwind on the popular and peaceful ski slopes at Mt Lyford.
As the cottage is also in close proximity to Blenheim, the township of Marlborough, you can enjoy gourmet food at some of the popular restaurants and visit one of the well-known wineries. Marlborough is world renowned for its "Sauvignon Blanc". Within the town, there are two formal art galleries and a number of art and craft outlets as well as olive oil tasting.
