Il Trebbio is a Mediaeval hamlet 450 mt above sea level, in Tuscany, only 35 km from Florence above the pretty country town of LONDA. It has been in the family of the Marchesi Dufour Berte for generations and consists of a number of buildings, accommodating two to seven people, once farmhouses, haybarns and an ancient oil – mill, which were recently restored with an eye to modern comfort, through maintaining their original features and period details: stone floors, fireplaces, and exposed beams.
Each building has a private entrance and garden with portable barbecue and shares a pool which enjoys the privilege of the sunniest location and breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The scenic pool just 250 mt form the hamlet is set is a large lawn bordered with olive trees.
HOW TO GET here
The area is easily reached from the airports of BOLOGNA, PISA, FLORENCE, FORLI and by car from the Autostrada A1 (25 km far)
The location is ideal for day trips to the main historical cities of Tuscany (not more then 1 and half hour away) Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo and to famous Italian cities like Milan,Venice, Rome accessible by car and railyway separately or in combination
This part of Tuscany called Mugello is well know for gining birth to the Medici family and to famous painters like Cimabue, Giotto, Beato Angelico, Andrea del Castagno, who can be admired in the Ufizzi Gallery in Florence, but also for its dynamic scenary, its green country side and distant peaks. The area offers a relaxing holiday in a peaceful unspoiled setting away from the usual touristic routes. Thoses who love natural beauty and wild life will be delighted to discover that IL TREBBIO is on the edge of an extensive National park: The National Park of the Casentinesi Forests easily reached along a beautiful mountain road leading to the Casentino Valley.

- Shopping: weekly markets take place on different days in the nearly country towns: The Cascine – Florence, on Tuesdays
