The chateau of Montigny sur Avre is situated at 110 kms, west of Paris, by the National 12, at the heart of the River Avre valley and at the gates of Normaidy and the beautiful rolling contryside of the Perche. It is close to the historical town of Verneuil-sur-Avre. Built in the early 18th century, it is a remarkable example of French architectural elegance. The patter of straight lines a curves of the brick work is extrernely harmonious, as is its setting on the banks of the river Avre. It is a listed Historical Monument.
At Montigny, you will experience the life of Riley, in beautiful rooms "4 épis" especially designed to give you the maximun confort and calm. Surmounded ty trees and water and green meadows where horses graze. In the fields around the Château, you may notice a lot of horses and ponies, these belong to the Farm Riding Stables of Montigny, run by Haude de la Bourdonnaye, daughter of the Château's owners.
This is a Equistrian Touring Centre, wich means that you can discover the contryside on horseback whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider. There are numerous tracks and paths in the château's great forest and lovely rides along the Avre Valley. You can even bring your own horse
