Secluded within the hills of the Gulf of Diano Marina, and surrounded by 200 year old olive groves, Borgo Muratori offers you an oasis of tranquillity only a few minutes away from the Meditarranean coast.
The Muratorio family have been living in Borgo Muratori for centuries. Maura Muratorio, the last descendent, after having written books on the history of the English colony on the Riviera, decided to restore the house inherited from her uncles and to offer hospitality in the form of Agriturismo.
Opened recently, Agriturismo Borgo Muratori offers its guests a peaceful place where one can immerse oneself in the life of the Ligurian countryside.
The main house was enlarged in the 17th century, and was first built as a fortress in order to protect the inhabitants of the hamlet from the Saracen incursion. It was used as a Convent and still maintains this name. It sits grandly amidst vast olive groves, silhouetted against the hills.
From its windows there is a spectacular view of the sea and the distant horizon. L'Antico Frantoio Fratelli Muratorio is on the ground floor and forms part of the local history, it has now been transformed into a small museum where Maura Muratorio will be pleased to describe the old ways of olive oil pressing.
The tasting of Maura's own extra virgin olive oil takes place beneath its vaulted ceiling especially for her guests.
Maura has restored two flats within the Convent: Il Ciliegio and La Ginestra.
In the garden, Maura has restored Il Melograno, a little stone barn where she has been living since 2001.
The Garden is open to all guests and follows the ancient terraced style of planting olive trees, fruit and vegetables together.
One can take meals outside under the Pergola or sunbathe in secluded places and relax under the shade of the olive trees.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Il Ciliegio, in the Covent: (2+1+1), on the first floor, comprises a double bedroom with vaulted ceiling, a small living room with mezzanine for one bed (130 cms), a kitchen, a bathroom and an open terrace with splendid views of the valley.
La Ginestra is on the second floor of the Convent, 4 PEOPLE.
La Ginestra comprises a double and a twin bedded rooms, a living room with open fire, a small kitchen and a bathroom. Again with gorgeous views of the hills and the sea.
Secluded within the hills of the Gulf of Diano Marina, and surrounded by 200 year old olive groves, Borgo Muratori offers you an oasis of tranquillity only a few minutes away from the Meditarranean coast.
Enormous fig trees, giant agave, ancient lemon trees and rosemary hedges assault ones senses as soon as you arrive in this corner of Liguria.
