Your host, Cornelius, is fluent in English, and also speaks German, as do his parents, who came from Switzerland to Brazil. Cornelius created a very special atmosphere converting the historic mansion in a veritable Hotel de Charme - recommended by Lonely Planet and FootPrint.
The rooms and suites for our guests are decorated with works of art, dating from times where artists had ateliers in the historic building.
Santa Teresa, the pittoresque neighborhood, has become a touristic spot of Rio de Janeiro in the last years, there are lovely places with Live Music, Samba and Chorinho to go out at night. Santa Teresa is one of the few places in Rio where the old colonial style architecture still is preserved, a green district where, in ancient times, the rich had their huge mansions surrounded by generous gardens. Santa Teresa is located on a hillside overlooking downtown and the Guanabara Bay.
