Canary Islands Gran Canaria Villa Vacation rentals 2 Bedroom in Golf Resort with private pool in Maspalomas   (1)

We have just returned from a fine & relaxing holiday with this resort. On arrival we were met with specific easy instructions of how to get into the villa after arriving late. A welcome hamper was awaiting us with further instructions on how to make the rest of our stay comfortable. Also provided is the use of wifi, mobile phone to contact the villa management and the nice touch, delivery of free daily fresh baked bread. We had booked this late and we're looking for relaxation and peace & quiet, which is exactly what we got. If you're booking a family, you will need a hire car to visit local amenities, shopping, tourist attractions and beaches. If you're happy to sun yourself by your own private pool with nothing more strenuous than a walk to the shop then this is the place for you! Amenities on site were obviously the golf resort & the use of the Sheraton Hotel facilities for a fee of course. We didn't use the facilities as we were there on simple wind down & relaxation. Mr Taylor walked to the shop (Spar) each day for basics and we took a taxi to nearby El Tablero for one major shopping trip. There are a number of restaurants on site within the resort but we only tried the hotel Camaléon restaurant & whilst the service and value was great, the food was not as good as Café de Mogan (Peurto Mogan) and Los Guayres (Puerto Mogan). Had we not been to those places previously and known what to expect from Canarian ala carte, our expectations may have been different! That's not to say it wasn't good - but we'd had better in GC. Most evenings we decided to cook within the villa which reduced the temptation of holiday binging and questionable service - so we cannot really speak for the other venues. The villa amenities for cooking, storing food & drink were excellent. Tall fridge freezer & microwave along with toaster, coffee maker, hob, oven etc. There were even BBQ facilities!! More than met our needs! Finally the pool. If you find the Canarian sun doesn't heat the pool enough to your liking, it is worth opting for the heated options (we didn't as it was 28-30 degrees every day). Evening swimming was lovely with coloured illuminations... providing the ideal setting for glasses of wine on the patio afterwards. For us, there were no down sides to this villa holiday. It was clean, spacious, good value, quiet & relaxing. If you're looking for this kind of holiday you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for night life and things to do other than golf, you will need a car or enough euros for taxis. Customer Service was fabulous. They were really happy to help & checked regularly that everything was okay for us - even late check out on our final day was happily accommodated!
