La Casbah is an intimate hideaway situated on a private beach cove in the quiet resort of Roches Noires, northeast of Mauritius. The nearest village, for your everyday shopping, is 4 kms away, and the sea-side town of Grand Bay with its tourist attractions is 25 minutes drive to the north. Several of the island’s best hotels are 10 to 20 minutes drive to the south.
Set up in a private garden, this fine property steps down directly on the beach. Formations of black rocks from place to place make a striking contrast to the turquoise of the sea and the white of the surf-sprayed coral reef..
The villa has been architecturally designed incorporating Moroccan features with an eye for both the traditional and contemporary styles. Special features are the garden courtyard and the roof terrace with cushioned seating area for sundowners by candlelight. Interiors are spacious and painted in warm colours.

The master double bedroom (air-conditioned) with sea view has en suite dressing area, bathroom and separate toilet.

Kitchen
The villa has a well-equipped American style kitchen and another further staff kitchen for meal preparation.
Staff
The maid/cook is exclusively available to guests of the villa. She is responsible for room service every morning, but, as she lives close by in the village, she can also, subject to arrangements, come back on some evenings. On daily request, a butler cum driver may help you to choose wine of good vintage from the owner’s cellar, or accompany guests on excursions to view cultural sights and beauty spots. He will also find fresh seafood and prepare the barbecue.
Neighbourhood
Tubas (for snorkeling), bicycles and kayaks are available on the spot. Only a few minutes drive from the best hotels of the island like the One&Only St. Géran and Constance Le Prince Maurice. Activities nearby include deep-sea fishing (which is available only between November
and June), wind surf, kite surf, sea cruise by catamaran to GRSW Waterfall and to l’Ile aux Cerfs, which is very well known for its professional golf course, its gastronomic restaurant and its beautiful beaches. There is also another internationally well known golf course where the Mauritius Golf Open Championship is played every year at Belle Mare. |
