Mariposa
With its white sandy beach, turquoise lagoon and breathtaking view of the Black river Range Mountains and Le Morne Brabant mountain, La Mariposa Beach Resort offers a heavenly atmosphere as a get away holiday break.

Situated on the sunny sheltered west coast of Mauritius, La Preneuse has kept the authenticity of a fisherman village with traditional fishing boats plying the lagoon and has been zoned as a conservation area for its outstanding beauty. The lagoon offers exquisite diving and snorkeling sites commonly called “the aquarium” as well as fantastic bathing.

Location

The resort is only 45 minutes away from the airport and around 30 minutes away from the biggest towns. The village of La Preneuse offers the service of a post office, commercial center with restaurants and bars, a supermarket, gas station, bank, etc all walking distance from the resort.

The Resort

The Resort consists of 14 air conditioned 1-bedroom apartments which comprise of 1 large bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom/ w.c and a lovely terrace facing the ocean ideal for two persons. Each apartment are approx: 50 square meter and ach one is fully equipped with a TV set, a well equipped kitchen giving customers complete freedom and comfort of dining in.

Accommodation:

The 1-bedroom apartments:
The 1-bedroom apartments are divided in two categories: Sunset Suites and Standard Suites.

The Sunset ones have the distinct luxury of being more spacious and on the waterfront facing a breathtaking view of the setting sun in the ocean. The Standard ones are a little further away than the sunset ones but each has a terrace facing the ocean and the swimming pool.

Family Suites:
4 standard suites have been converted to offer 2 family suites for families with young children.
Rates shown below are for such families but if used to accommodate 4 adults rates charged will be for 2 one-bedroom apartments

2 and 3 Bedroom apartments:
The resort also offers the choice of 2 and 3 bedrooms apartments which comprise of the same facilities as the 1-bedroom apartments with however more living space ideal for a family.

West Coast
Further South on the West coast one reaches Tamarin, with its new Tamarina Golf Course, and popular with those looking for exhilarating surfing, then Riviere Noire long known as the hub of big game fishing where one holidays at a slower pace, before reaching the coast of Petite Riviere Noire where there are a few appealing properties with pool in quiet regions on the beach but more than a km from the main road. Further South still is Le Morne with its several beach hotels and Golf Course at the Paradis & Dinarobin hotels. This coast is dryer than the north coast and generally not yet spoilt by tourism and enjoys an all year round warm climate Also to be noted that no less than 2 well stocked supermarkets (European style) are now operating on this stretch of coast.
