Luxury House in the Kruger National Park

South Africa Lodge Vacation Rentals - Luxury House Vacation in the Kruger National Park.

This house is perched on the scenic banks of one of the Kruger National Park's greatest rivers - the Crocodile River - and is surrounded by tens of thousands of hectares of raw African wilderness. It is here that places of water are places of life. It is here that all forms of wildlife are drawn to the riverine habitat to feed and to quench their thirst. It is here that the paths of predators and prey cross. It is here that life and death are close companions. It is here that you are assured of a breathtaking wildlife experience.

The house accommodates ten guests in five private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms plus an outside shower with a patio looking onto the Crocodile River. The long passage opens up to a large lounge and dining room area where visitors can enjoy a sunset drink while watching a variety of bird and animal life. This room further extends to an enormous patio with an infinity pool and braai area where many a bush story has been shared.

This self catering 5 Star house has air conditioning, ceiling fans, PVR satellite TV, a fully stocked kitchen and bar along with maid service daily (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays). Here you will observe raw Africa in all its magnificence and its many moods. This is Big 5 territory at its best, as the sun sets over the Kruger National Park at the end of another remarkable day the river will carry your cares away and Africa will be in your blood... forever.

Situated inside a Game Reserve that is the last extensive tract of pristine indigenous bush bordering onto the Crocodile River which forms the southern boundary of the world famous Kruger National Park. The Game Reserve is in fact the only development of its kind adjoining the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park.

During 2008 the 10km stretch of fence separating the Game Reserve from the Kruger National Park was removed, which means that this Game Reserve is now an extension of the Kruger Park. Not only are animals moving freely between both sides of the river but the Kruger National Park authority has taken over the ecological management of the Game Reserve. Furthermore, a direct access bridge into the Kruger's own road network is available for guests to drive their own personal SUV or 4x4 across.

The specific region in which this property is situated is particularly appealing in that the vegetation is characterised by tall woodlands made up of knob-thorn and other acacia species mixed in with trees such as marulas, lead woods, bush willow, apple-leafs, silver cluster-leafs and tambotis. Growing along the watercourses and drainage lines are magnificent trees such as the jackal berry, sausage tree and sycamore fig.

Along the length of the property adjoining the Kruger Park, the Crocodile River passes through reed beds, rocky fast flowing channels and deeper pools. It is home to a high density of hippos and crocodiles. Where the river flows alongside the floodplain, the spotting of game coming to the river to drink is easy.

The Big Five are found throughout this region and may be seen. Herds of buffalo and elephant frequent the riverine area and predators such as leopard, lion, hyena and wild dog have been seen here. Waterbuck and other antelope such as kudu, bushbuck and impala are common. Plains game such as zebra and wildebeest come to the river to drink particularly in the dry months of the year. The area is known for its good rhino sightings.

The Game Reserve is first and foremost a place of rest where guests will find a tranquil retreat in the bush. Being open to the Kruger National Park, Mjejane Game Reserve has the same variety of game that is found in the Biyamiti region - this includes the Big 5. Another area within the reserve has been identified for safe walking and mountain biking.

Stocking up on supplies is very easy as both Malelane and Komatipoort offer a host of shops, medical facilities and the like and day outings to both Swaziland and Mozambique are within easy striking distance.
