Elegant 17th century house is set in 20 hectares of grounds in hilly wooded countryside in a good location for visiting the main towns of the Dordogne - Bergerac (30km), Sarlat (75km) and Périgueux (24km). The lovely village of Grignols is 2 km away and has basic shops (baker, foie gras...), restaurants and post office; the owner of the property organises concerts and medieval events at its church and castle. There is a widr selection of shops and tennis courts in Neuvic (8km), as well as fishing and canoeing on the Isle River. Bike hire is possible at Mussidan (16km) and horse riding at St Laurent-des-Hommes. There is an 18 hole golf course at Périgueux (24km), and a leisur lake at Neufont (10km), and a river swimming is possble at St-Astier (8km), a beautiful village with a very good market on Thursday mornings. The setting of the property is very peaceful and beautiful and it enjoys views of forests and undulatin fields and an isolated position. The salt-water swimming pool is located at a higher level than the house. The interior is beautifully and comfortably decorated in a mixture of styles with period furniture and andiques. There are original wooden and terracotta tile floors, and many exposed beams. On the ground floor are a spacious living room and e sittin room, a double bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate wc. On the 1st floor are foor double attic bedrooms eache with an additional single bed (2 full size, 2 small), a bathroom with a wc , another bathroom and a seperate wc. On the 2nd floor is a large dormitory style attic room with 5 single beds.
