Sea Front Manor House Holiday rental in Brittany

Built toward the end of the eighteenth century as a watchtower, Beg ar Chastel belongs to those legendary “Captains’ houses” erected by old seadogs who, between two voyages, wished to gaze upon the ocean from their personal look-out post.
Beg ar Chastel challenges the changing nature of the elements; it makes light of the storm and boldly defies the tempest. It calls to mind some architectural features of the“malouine ” houses anchored to their rocks, slender and lofty, magical and solitary.
On the edge of the customs’ path, a private driveway welcomes the guest and guides him to a large terrace bordered with low walls of old stones.
There the view is catching, whatever the colour of the sky and whether the wind is blowing or not.
Anchored on its belvedere, swept by the constant play of the waves, it claims its originality thanks to an exceptional site.
The property of Beg ar Chastel spreads out over a 3000-square-kilometre stretch of wild moor.
For years, it has been a target of many professional photographers and it has naturally become the privilege of the area, the symbol of an unfathomable and mysterious Brittany.
In the 50s the architect refined its form and gave back its original solemn and untameable aspect.
Beyond the close symbiosis with the surrounding nature, it is an indisputable witness of the historical and cultural past of the area.
As it has recently been renovated, the mansion has found back its original character with a neat decoration.
This mansion is composed of four floors and can accomodate up to eight people (4 double rooms and 1 single room):
ground floor: lounge (TV and VCR) with a view of a private terrace (garden furniture), double room with a view of the beach:
second floor : reception room (Hi-Fi, CD player, fireplace) with a view of the sea, dining room + fully equipped american kitchen
third floor : 2 double rooms 1 single room, bathroom, with view of the sea everywhere
fourth floor 2 double room with parquet floor and view of the sea, a bathroom with tiled shower and washbasin.
