About an hour’s drive from Stone Town and the airport is Anna of Zanzibar with its 4 exquisitely designed villas in an Afro-colonial style with thatch roofs situated in a large tropical garden with palms and local vegetation, all facing the Indian ocean. The main guest building which is also situated in the garden is magnificently built in zanzibarian style and decorated with traditional carvings comprises a spacious bar area, lounge, library and dining room. The veranda has a wonderful view of the tropical garden and ocean. All meals can be taken on the veranda or on the beach in private beach huts and you can enjoy a seafood barbeque on the beach offering the catch of the day.

The temperature of the Indian Ocean is pleasant all year round, and the tidal differences allow for a range of activities. Low tide is good for long walks all the way to the outer reef to observe the abundant marine life in the rock pools. High tide is time for excellent swimming and snorkeling in the warm water. The beaches are literally miles long, perfect for gentle strolls or exhilarating bicycle rides all day long. The large freshwater pool is perfect for a good refreshing swim.

Then again you can visit the shisha lounge for an afternoon tea or a drink in the evening to watch the rising moon after a long day on the beach…

As the highlight of your day, dinners include several courses, with a main course choice of fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. The cuisine is a delightful fusion of African, Arabian and Indian styles. Seafood is of course the specialty of our private restaurant on fresh fish. You can also taste the zanzibarian and vegetarian cuisine on request. And why not accompany your exotic dishes with a fine selection of South African wines?

ACCOMMODATION

All four of the luxury villas are situated in our tropical garden with views directly onto the Indian Ocean. Each suite includes a separate lounge area, a bedroom, dressing room and bathroom.

The rooms are furnished in a luxurious fusion of colonial and original Zanzibari style and have private terraces overlooking the ocean. Full room service is provided on request and each suite is equipped with the amenities suited to five-star luxury, including a mini bar with a wine cooler, tea and coffee-making facilities, an individual room safe, a hairdryer and wireless internet connectivity. Our Master bedrooms are equipped with air-condition and ceiling fans.
For those who want privacy, meals can be served on the private terrace which has a magnificent view on the tropical garden, pool and the ocean.

ACTIVITIES
After a walk/bike riding/excursions or time spent on the beach why not treat yourself to a relaxing massage and beauty treatments in the luxurious small spa directly on the beach.
After enjoying the tropical beaches and the warm Indian Ocean, make sure to visit the vibrant capital and the World Heritage site, Stone Town and the exotic spice farms in the center of the island. A visit to the neighboring villages is a good opportunity to experience the local culture and bustling village life.
The Indian Ocean surrounding the island offers excellent opportunities for deep sea fishing. Anna of Zanzibar, in conjunction with Buccaneer Diving Centre, offers access to some of the finest scuba diving sites in Zanzibar.
With a European kite surfing school only 10 minutes away, both equipment and training lessons for novices and experienced kite surfers can be organized.
Alternatively for the more adventurous, individual excursions such as a visit to Stone Town, spice farm, dolphin diving or even a visit to the monkey forest as well as deep sea fishing and snorkeling can be organized.
