Nestled in the southwest of Zanzibar, 30 minutes from the International Airport, Fumba Beach Lodge consists of 26 whitewashed zanzibarian styled bungalows, scattered on the beautiful white sandy beach of Menai. All the bungalows have a spectacular view of the sea.

Far away from the busy tourist areas, Fumba Beach Lodge offers the most private and exclusive spots and the perfect place to swim, dive, walk amongst the tropical garden and have a romantic moment.

You can sit and relax or read a book in peace under the baobab tree or work on your sun tan on the beach or sip a nice cocktail by the pool, or even go for a nice swim either in the warm Indian Ocean or in the pool. You can also have a nice refreshing drink from the Dhow beach bar which is perfectly situated right on the beach. To add some excitement you could go snorkelling or scuba diving and see the wonderful coral garden and marine life of the Indian ocean. You could also have a memorable experience swimming with dolphins or have a romantic sunset cruise.

Or why not enjoy a spectacular sunset while having the most delightful dinner in the open air restaurant around the swimming pool and overlooking the beach or the formal restaurant and bar. All dishes are prepared by our well trained chefs who use fresh seafood from the catch of the day, fresh vegetables and fruits together with a range of spices for which Zanzibar is well known. The chefs will give you the best of Zanzibar cuisine and that with a smile!

Feel amazingly refreshed from a good massage or beauty therapy in the spa which has been built around a majestic Baobab tree and spreads indoors and out. The treatments range from Swedish, therapeutic to aromatherapy massages and zanzibari scrubs. Treatments are made with natural ingredients from the exotic spices and flowers from the island itself such as frangipani, cinnamon, vanilla, cloves and sea salt to name a few. And what can be more romantic than having a magical moment in the Jacuzzi, which is built into the tree itself and shaded by the rustling leaves, while drinking champagne under the night skies.



ACCOMMODATION

Set in forty acres of exquisite wilderness: tropical forests, secluded protected beaches, there are 26 bungalows consisting of 20 deluxe bandas, 4 luxury suites and 2 baobab suites.




The 20 Deluxe bandas are spacious with king size beds having mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms, fans, a private terrace with a fantastic ocean view. The deluxe bandas are suitable for families or couples.

The 4 luxury suites also have king size beds with mosquito nets, a bath and an outside shower overlooking the ocean with direct access to the beach and a private roof terrace where you can have a private meal

For the ultimate extravagance, spoil yourself in one of the 2 baobab suites which is actually cradled around a 300 year old baobab tree. The bedroom also has a king size bed with mosquito net and the bathrooms open to the elements with direct access to the beach.


ACTIVITIES
There is a wide range of activities that is offered. Visiting the stunning archipelago islands by taking the dhow. You could go snorkelling, deep sea fishing and dolphin sightings for the lucky ones! There is also a whale watching trip in August and September. Lunch/buffet/snacks and drinks are prepared by the chefs.

For those who want to discover the Zanzibarian culture and history, there are day trips to Stone Town where you can visit the town market, the old slave market, the old fort amongst many other historic sites and buildings. You can also visit the Jozani forest, the only remaining complete forest, where you would see the rich fauna and flora of Zanzibar. There is also the spice tour where you can visit the spice farms
