We had a wonderful time. The cottage was lovely and plenty big for our family. Mike and Tina are so sweet and helpful. We witnessed an amazing sunset from the enclosed porch every night and even saw a sea otter. The quiet village of Quilty is a perfect home base for exploring the many natural wonders of County Clare. We would definitely recommend this cottage and in fact we already have. Marianne, USA

This was my family’s first trip to Ireland and we spent almost two weeks exploring the country. We spent our first five nights at this cottage and my husband, son and I all agree that staying here was definitely our favorite part of the trip. First, I want to say that Mike and Tina are just wonderful hosts! We flew in on an overnight flight to Dublin and immediately got into our rental car and drove across the country to start our vacation here. We were greeted by Mike – smiling and waving to us. It was so nice to walk into such a delightful, quaint and cozy cottage. It was the perfect start to our vacation. Mike showed us around the cottage and answered all of our questions. He even supplied us with a welcome basket with some yummy goodies. These were appreciated because we were tired and hungry, and it was nice not to have to rush out and find a place to eat. The cottage was very comfortable and such a great place to retreat after a day of sightseeing. The hardest part was trying to convince ourselves to actually get up and out. We all just wanted to stay in and watch the tide roll in and out. The views are absolutely amazing here and I mean AMAZING! If you find a place closer to the ocean, you’d have to be on a boat. The views are just something else. When you look one way you can see the Cliffs of Moher and you look the other way you see Mutton Island with ruins. We could also see the signals from lighthouses off the Aran Islands (I’m pretty sure that’s what we were seeing). We also visited when Ireland was experiencing record high temperatures, so we were able to walk along the beach when the tide was out and even wade a bit. The water was beautiful and the tide pools were really fun to see. Even though it was really warm the first couple of days, the evenings were cool and the cottage was the perfect temperature. The last couple of days, it cooled down enough for us to enjoy the fireplace too. This is a great location to explore all of the wonderful things County Clare has to offer. You are within 30 minutes to an hour to many of the top destinations: Cliffs, the Burren, Doolin, LaHinch, etc. We really enjoyed exploring right around Shorehaven. Quilty is quite charming & the locals were so friendly. When we left, Mike and Tina were there to say goodbye. We are so glad that we were able to explore so much of the “Wild Atlantic” from this location. A few more days here and I think we would have felt like real locals. Thank you! -Elizabeth & Ken
