Superb Self-Catering Accommodation for 2 to 6 people in KELSO - South Scotland.
Situated in the beautiful old market town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders, just 1 hour's drive from Edinburgh.
Equally suited for couples or families, the Turret House, Kelso, can sleep up to 6. In addition a cot for under two year olds is available on request.
The self-catering rental accommodation is on three floors and is centrally heated throughout.
There is a small, pleasant courtyard garden to the rear of the house. Unrestricted parking is available in Abbey Court.
The Turret House is non-smoking throughout.
Ground Floor: Kitchen and Dining Area, Gas 'wood burner' in the original fireplace. Dining table seating 6, here is access to the courtyard garden from the adjoining utility room.
Ground Floor: Dining Room with old range fireplace.
First Floor: Sitting Room with two feature fireplaces.The courtyard garden can be accessed from the sitting room via a small bridge.
First Floor:Double Bedroom with shower room en-suite and 4ft 6in cast iron double bed. Beautiful original cast iron fireplace and working shutters.
Second Floor:Bedroom 2 with Twin beds. Original cast iron fireplace.Bedroom 3 with 6ft 'Zip 'n' Link' bed. Can be made up as super-king or twin beds as required. Bathroom:WC, wash hand basin and bath.
Courtyard Garden
A small and peaceful enclosed courtyard garden with a riot of climbing and other plants. The garden can be accessed from the kitchen and sitting room. The perfect place for a cool drink on a balmy summer's evening.
Activities:
In Kelso you can fish for salmon and sea trout on the famous River Tweed, enjoy a game of golf at Kelso Golf Club or the championship Roxburghe Golf Course and cheer on the winners at Britain's friendliest Kelso Racecourse.
Walkers are well catered for in the lovely Scottish Borders countryside, from riverside rambles to hill walking in the Cheviots, at the end of the Pennine Way.
To the east, within easy driving distance, are the Berwickshire and Northumberland coastlines, with dramatic cliffs, long sandy beaches, little fishing villages and the ancient pilgrimage site of Holy Island (Lindisfarne). A few miles inland will take you to Alnwick Castle with its stunning water gardens. Fans of the Harry Potter films will recognise the austere walls as Hogwarts School.
The most spectacular Roman remains in Britain, Hadrian's Wall, are an hour and a half by car to the south, while an hour's drive to the north will take you to the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh.
