Welcome to Tredington Mill

This 18th century Warwickshire water mill has recently been fully restored and refitted, and two parts are available for short or long self-catering holiday breaks. Puddle Cottage and Pool View, to the south of Stratford-upon-Avon at the edge of the Cotswold Hills, are well placed for exploring Shakespeare Country. Set in the quiet village of Tredington, they both have river-front access, stunning views, and four-star rating from Quality in Tourism.


Puddle Cottage - Sleeps 4, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
In this peaceful retreat, French windows open onto a courtyard garden with a table and chairs - the perfect spot to catch the sun and enjoy an evening drink with an unspoilt view of the river and its island, teeming with wildlife just a few feet away. The mill stream means that Puddle Cottage is not suitable for unsupervised children, but well behaved pets are welcome.
The centrally heated, non smoking accommodation retains many original features including exposed beams. It is on three floors. There is a fully fitted kitchen (electric hob and oven), dining area seating four, and lounge space with a widescreen TV on the ground floor. The first floor has a double bed room with a separate shower room/ WC. On the top floor there is a twin/double bedroom, connecting to an en-suite bathroom, with a shower over the bath.


Pool View - Sleeps 4, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Newly restored to combine traditional charm with up-to-date comfort. Pool View retains many original features – exposed beams, steep staircases, and large mill windows that make the most of the exceptional views.
Pool View residents are welcome to enjoy the garden, where you will find tables and chairs so you can relax next to the river. The garden is a river island that splits the River Stour to feed the mill stream. It has a weir and a notable weeping willow, and you might see swans, kingfishers, herons, and, if you are very lucky, the occasional otter. Take a picnic or a glass of wine down to the weir. Children love playing near the river but need to be supervised.
The comfortable centrally-heated accommodation is on two floors. The living room, separate fully fitted kitchen/dining room, and WC are on the first floor. Upstairs there are one double and one twin/double bedroom. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.


In addition to basics, you will find a welcome hospitality gift including fruit and flowers.

Tredington is a convenient base for exploring the towns and villages of the north Cotswolds, nestling between Shakespeare's birthplace and many of the Cotswolds most popular attractions. This part of England is famed for its beautiful landscape and pretty stone-walled villages, many of which have historic churches and pubs selling local beers (three local breweries!).
The historic market town of Shipston-on-Stour is two miles away for restaurants, take-aways, pubs, supermarkets, banks, post office, chemist, a leisure centre, and a wide variety of small shops. There are also two delicatessens, an independent wine merchant, a fresh fish shop, butchers, and bakers.

Access is easy from the M40 at Warwick. There are nearby rail stations: both Stratford-upon-Avon (for Birmingham) and Moreton-in-Marsh (for London) are only eight miles away. Tredington is on a local bus route.
