Overview

Higher Melcombe Manor

Welcome to Higher Melcombe Manor

Michael and Lorel are delighted to welcome you to their home, the Grade I listed Higher Melcombe Manor. There are 3 sumptuous double rooms and 1 single, each with its own ambience.

Melcombe nestles in its own beautiful valley in the heart of Dorset, with far reaching views over fields and woodland and in the middle of its own estate. Higher Melcombe Manor is a peaceful place, whether you want to explore historic mid-Dorset, tramp the byways of the Wessex Ridgeway to the Dorset Gap - or just relax by the side of the fire with a good book.

Each of the three main guest bedrooms at Higher Melcombe Manor gives a totally different ambience. On the first floor the historic panelled room with its fine ceiling, linenfold paneling, and sumptuous fabrics. Then up to the refurbished second floor, and enter the 20th century. Two new bedrooms, each in a totally different style, with new en-suite bathrooms with power showers and all life's other creature comforts.

Our guests also have the use of a snug (2 long modern sofas, TV and DVD player) and kitchenette (fridge, sink and tea/coffee/drinks facilities) on the top floor, as well as the Manor's Drawing Room and Dining Room.

The Gardens
Melcombe is a haven for garden lovers, walkers and for just simply relaxing. The two acre garden wraps around the house to south, east and west, with mature herbaceous borders, rolling lawns, and the odd sculpture. There are lots of little walks and benches dotted around to sit and think - or just to sit - and terraces and tables for sunrises and sundowners...

Weddings at Higher Melcombe Manor - The Great Hall
The Great Hall can be booked for Civil Ceremonies, weddings and naming ceremonies. The Drawing Room and the Dining room are also licensed - ideal if you are having a small group.

Conferences at Higher Melcombe
Whether you want to meet to make money, or just benefit from bonding, then the Melcombe magic may be the answer.

We look forward to welcoming you to Higher Melcombe Manor.
