his is a wonderful hotel, with the bonus of being a base for a safari. It is so easy to relax here and enjoy everything that the Kruger has to offer. It looks onto the Crocodile River and on the other side is Kruger Park. Sitting having a drink you can frequently see elephant, hippo, crocodile and the other Kruger animals can be seen at times. The rooms are great with nice bathrooms and the ambience is like being a special guest at someone's special home. The staff are excellent and helpful, and will organise safaris for you. Golf at Ernie Els's Leopard Creek, which is nearby, can also be organised. There is a well stocked bar and excellent wine cellar. Breakfast is a delight, as is the evening meal. The evening meal is a set menu with a choice of 2 dishes and changes every day and from what I saw if you are vegetarian, then this can be catered for. The quality of the food was superb. I cannot wait to come back and stay in this wonderful hotel.

My wife and I have just returned from our three week trip to South Africa. One of the highlights of our trip was a four day stay at this Lodge, overlooking the Crocodile River, a most peaceful and serene place. We experienced two pre-organised game drives into the Kruger which we enjoyed so much we decided to do a night game drive. We mentioned this to Colin, our host, and within minutes he had arranged it for us - great service! As avid golfers we also played at Leopard Creek, another most enjoyable experience. Colin and Carole and all their staff were wonderful hosts and couldn't have looked after us better. Food was excellent and superb choice of wines and spirits for that sundowner! We were even presented with a lovely bottle of wine at dinner one evening as my wife and I were celebrating a very special anniversary. Great memories and, hopefully, we will be able to return to this magical place some time in the future.

Second visit and there will be a third. Great rooms, great views from the rooms and the balcony where the rooms have them. Where else can you bath or shower and view the crocodile river/Kruger park. Food and service wonderful. This lodge is so welcoming and so comfortable. The "lounge area" on the veranda is a place to chill, raise a glass or two and spot what the Kruger has to offer. Golf at leopard creek can also be booked by staying here.
