We are the only privately owned safari lodge set on the banks of Lake St Lucia within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site, the heart of Africa’s largest natural estuary. The iSimangaliso Wetland park World Heritage Site is one of the few natural wonders left on earth where there are unspoiled wilderness beaches, vast wetlands and game reserves all combined into one reserve.
We welcome you to our ‘home from home’ lodge, where we provide comfort and friendship which we complement with a host of safaris’ to explore these incredible wonders!
Our Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable KwaZulu safari experience with its luxury game viewing suites and excellent service.
The Honeymoon suite is situated privately with views out onto a vlei. Large windows and terrace doors as well as mosquito gauze screen doors slide open onto private viewing decks, skillfully combining luxury and integration with the environment.
The honeymoon suite offers an en-suite bathroom and toilet and an outdoor shower. There is a service bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Enjoy your own private game viewing deck.
The room has air-conditioning/ heating and there is a telephone.
The Lodge has a private bush pool on the lake's edge.
We also have a bar, dining room, outdoor dining deck, and a boma for bush dinners.

The Safari Lodge offers the following activities that are included in the Fully Inclusive rate.
- On a one night stay guests can enjoy an afternoon game drive and a morning game drive before checking out. It is recommended that a guest spends a minimum of 2-3 nights with us in order to enjoy the full day safaris exploring the wetlands by boat on one day and exploring the glorious coastline on the second full day.
Within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park the animals found include: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard, Hyena, Wildebeest, Zebra, Giraffe, Hippo, Crocodile and many other types of antelope.
An example of a full day safari would be the Boat and Wetland full day Safari:
An early breakfast is served at the Lodge after which guests depart the Lodge to embark on an exclusive 2 hour boat trip on the Lake St Lucia Estuary. The focus of this safari is to seek out bird life, hippo and crocodile on the boat and other animals and birds in the Wetlands. After a picnic lunch and a exploration through the western shores reserve, guests then return to the Lodge for tea in the late afternoon.

iSimangaliso Gate Fees
- Park Entry fees apply at the Dukuduku Gates (near St Lucia) & the Nhlozi Gates (off the N2 at the Charters Creek sign) – R48 per vehicle (around 3,5 US Dollars) / R45 per Adult per night (around 3,2 US Dollars)/ R30 per child under 12 per night (around 2,15 US Dollars)/ R5 (around 0,35 US Dollars) per person for Community Levy per night!
- Gate Opening times: Summer: Nov – March 05h00 to 19h00 / Winter: April to Oct 06h00 – 18h00
Note: All permits issued at the entry gates are to be stamped by the Lodge in order to exit the park or a fee of R400 (around 29 US Dollars) will be charged on exit. Main gates are locked after gate hours & late check-ins must advise the lodge in advance so that entry arrangements can be made.
PLEASE NOTE: NO LATE ENTRIES PERMITTED THROUGH DUKUDUKU GATES AFTER HOURS. Arrangements must be made in advance for access through Nhlozi gate.
Fully Inclusive Safaris
- The full board rates are fully inclusive of all meals and scheduled safaris. The safaris included are an afternoon game drive into the wetlands on the day of arrival. If guests are in for 1 night only, then guests will enjoy a morning game drive into the wetlands on the morning of departure.
- Full day trips are offered when staying for a minimum of 2 nights, where they have a full day to enjoy a safari. These safaris include: Boat Safari or Beach Safari. Hluhluwe Game Reserve is offered as the 3rd full day option on a 4 night stay.

Gratuities Guideline – R150 – R250 p/person per day (between 10 and 20 US Dollars)
- Children U12 in own rooms (not sharing with parents) – Full PPS rate applies.
- If Children U12 are sharing with 2 parents, Child rate applies.
- Children under the age of 6 are booked subject to special consent of owners, or if there is a group family bookings.
Child Policy can be sent on request.
- Booking: A deposit of 35 % will secure your reservations.
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Balance of accommodation account is payable 4 weeks prior to date of arrival.
- Provisional bookings will be held for a maximum of 10 days, thereafter the provisional booking will be released.
Cancellations:
- Non refundable deposit required on confirmation
- 30% of total lodge costs if cancellations 30 Days prior to travel date
- 60% of total lodge costs if cancellation 29 – 15 Days prior to travel date
- 90% of total lodge costs if cancellation 14 – Arrival date
In the event of premature departure the full extent of stay as originally booked will be charged. Clients are to have their own travel insurance in place to cover unforeseen travel cancellations.
