Our Honeymoon Suite has been meticulously designed with no expense spared. The perfect love nest for newlyweds or a special break away. Our special suite consists of a four poster bed and is draped with lavish soft furnishings and lovely fabrics.
There is a spacious gorgeous adjoining bathroom with a jacuzzi spa bath and a walk-in shower. The room opens up directly onto Swartvlei Lake, where guest can celebrate with bubbles and fine food.

Indoor treatment rooms
The spa has two single treatment rooms and one dual treatment room that caters for couples. Each room is superbly equipped. The treatment rooms are light and airy. Beautiful Venetian mirrors, soft music and scented candles add to the cocooning experience.

The hotel offers a great watersports holiday experience, with a range of activities on the lake and nearby coast – as well as angling, nature trails and much more! 5-star luxury accommodation situated on the Swartvlei Lake – a lagoon that stretches over 10.73 km and is blessed with mild weather and temperatures. This part of the country is a paradise for water sports. We have our own jetty and shallow water launching from the slipway. Swing moorings are available for guests to park their dinghies and kayaks. The skipper of the hotel’s Lady Giselle pontoon boat takes guests out on the lagoon to fish.

All of our watersports and facilities are available for guest use on a complimentary basis as part of their stay. This excludes the ski boat, which is available with a driver for use at an hourly rate.

The picturesque town of Sedgefield is 8 kilometres from Lakeside Lodge. It is Africa’s first official slow town and when you go there you will understand why. The town prides itself on its gentle pace of life. Sedgies call it the ‘tortoise pace’ and say it is good for one’s blood pressure. Sedgefield has art galleries, coffee shops and a wonderful Saturday farmers’ market. Beautiful towns abound in this part of the country. There is Great Brak, Little Brak, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay, Buffels Bay and Knysna, to name just a few. Knysna was founded by George Rex, who was said to be a love child of King George 111. It is home to the annual Knysna Oyster Festival.
