I could not have been happier in Ireland than I was using the Cottage as my "home base," where I easily traversed the entire western side of Erin with ease...and was always so grateful to see "my cottage" at the end of a wonderful day of travel/site-seeing. This cottage is stunningly beautiful, set in a tranquil farm landscape (I even had my own gate to leave open or close as I wished), but the "big house," where my hosts live, is just a short jaunt across the "backyard field," and is also a beautiful place on the landscape as well. It was so nice to go into "town" upon my arrival from Shannon airport, get some wonderfully farm-fresh and oh-so-tasty goodies to stock "my kitchen"--there waiting for me after a day out. The cottage itself is gorgeous and immaculate--easy to make myself at home immediately. My host was incredibly thoughtful and kind, and helped me with my "education" whilst in Ireland on so many issues. I highly recommend this Lodge for everyone who visits western Ireland--so much is just a short drive from "the farm," so it's an incredibly economical option, as well.
