At 65 km from the airport on the east coast, is one of the most luxurious hotels in Zanzibar. The hotel has 89 rooms, all with makuti roof, with all the expected facilities. The rooms are extremely comfortable and styled in a modern Zanzibar theme and they are divided into junior suites, cottages and garden rooms. Down at the beach you can have a nice stroll and feel the fine sand under your feet or have a nice dive in the warm Indian Ocean. A concrete path in front of the hotel leads from the beach to a permanent natural depression in the ocean bed just 200 metres offshore, offering a giant natural swimming pool. As the eastern side of the island is greatly influenced by the tide, you can go far out in the lagoon when the tide is high or go snorkelling to admire the vast marine life in the reef when the tide recedes. Or you can have a nice dip in the cool pool and enjoy a refreshing drink while still in the water by the pool bar.

You can choose to have your meals from the 3 restaurants - the main restaurant being the main restaurant with a terrace from where you can get an amazing view of the ocean. The main restaurant serves generous buffets. Le Grand Bleu restaurant specializes in seafood and choose the floating restaurant for a more private dinner, a lobster menu, when the tide allows it. The meals are simply delectable ranging from the entrees to the main courses, the scrumptious and exotic seafood platters, the variety of tropical fruits, and a vast selection of pastries as dessert, without forgetting the wide selection of wine!
The 89 rooms all have makuti roofs and white walls and are decorated in a modern style with zanzibari features. They are well maintained and very comfortable and all have beds with mosquito nets, AC, ceiling fans, mini bars, phones, tea-coffee makers, safe box and en-suite marble bathroom. In order not to spoil your privacy and romantic moments, there are no TVs in the bedrooms. If ever you want to catch up on some news, there is a TV with satellite channels in the main lodge.
The best rooms are the junior suites which are situated along the beachfront and thus have the most magnificent sea views. The cottages are situated on a gentle slope just behind the junior suites and you have limited sea view through palm tree tops. The garden rooms on the other hand are a little smaller than the cottages and the junior suites and are situated on the top of the slope in the tropical gardens. But all have easy access to the beach.
The hotel organizes a variety of excursions. For those who want to learn about the culture and history of Zanzibar, a trip to town will be more than enriching. Discover the spice farms, the local monuments, the markets and interact with the people. Walk through the famous alleys of Zanzibar and enjoy the aroma of coffee and spices and you can drive back to the hotel through the country side.
For dolphin lovers there is nothing better than a memorable dolphin tour. You will have a trip to Kizimkazi in the West Coast where you will learn about the behaviour of dolphins then the best part is to swim and play with them!
There is also the Safari Blue where you will be taken to Kae where you will be welcome on the beach with a cocktail and a mouth-watering seafood barbeque including lobsters and prawns. If the tide allows it you can have a nice boat ride to the mangrove where you will see different species of birds. At sunset you will be taken to the floating restaurant where you will taste the local drink, “Madafu’, and enjoy the delicious seafood and lobster dinner.
