South Africa Luxury Bed and Breakfast Historic Home in George.

If you want a good breakfast, a firm mattress, free WiFi, a bathrobe, space for your luggage, a small fridge, good quality coffee in your room, a hairdryer, free secure parking, maybe an iron and ironing board – that is essential. At our Homestead you’ll find that and more… The rooms come in all different sizes and shapes; all have a mix of contemporary and original features. Our garden is an attraction in it’s own right.

Experience hospitality in a unique and authentic Cape Georgian historical home dating back to 1861. This Homestead is a 7 bedroom guest house in B&B style - that means we, the owners, live on the premises.The guest rooms are private, with a communal lounge/dining room for the guests.
I do not profess that our guest house is child-friendly, but we do love children and our B&B is one of the few upmarket B&B's that take children.
We are only 8km from the closest beach, 6km from Redberry Farm (pick-your-own-strawberries, mini train, pony rides,bubble ball, bumper boats) 30km from Bottelierskop game drives.

- Room no.1 has 3,6 meter high ceilings so the room is lovely and cool in summer. It has a working fireplace.
French doors open onto the lavender garden and the side window view onto the rose garden.
Brass and wrought iron four poster bed (extra length QUEEN sized) Good quality extra depth mattress with cotton percale linen. Free WiFi in room. 32 Inch flat screen television with select DSTV and DVD player.
To take into consideration: the bathroom area (4 m²) is partially walled off and the shower is over the bath – it is therefore not suitable for people with limited mobility. Fitted with grab rails and heated towel rail.

- Room no 2 has 3,6 meter high ceilings the so it is lovely and cool in summer. French doors opening onto the lavender garden. Extra length KING sized bed; good quality extra depth mattress and cotton percale linen.The bed could be made up as two twin beds, but with 24 hour prior notification please.
The shower room (additional 4 m²) has no steps and is fitted with grab rails and heated towel rail.
Free WiFi in room. Flat screen 32 inch television with select DSTV. DVD player.

Nestling at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, George finds itself at the centre of natures “Garden Route” in the Cape Wildflower Floral Kingdom. Situated approximately 430 kilometres from the Mother City of Cape Town,

George is widely regarded as the hub of the Southern Cape Region. It is therefore the ideal base from which to explore the Southern Cape and Little Karoo. George is highly accessible. A good road network and the George airport link the Southern Cape and Little Karoo hinterland to the major centres of South Africa.

It is the business hub of the region and offers a variety of conference facilities, restaurants and tourist attractions and activities.

15 kilometres east of George on the N2 between the Kaaimans River and the Goukamma Nature Reserve, you will discover Wilderness. Nestling between the wooded foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains and the warm Indian Ocean in a region renown for its incomparable natural beauty, vast stretches of beaches and tranquility. It is a haven for nature lovers and adventurers alike. Most people chance upon Wilderness for the first time after sweeping through the Kaaimans River gorge and rounding Dolphin Point. Below stretches a seemingly endless beach; in the distance are hints of inland lakes, rare in South Africa; to the left wooded hills tumble down to the village and further inland are faraway glimpses of the Outeniqua Mountains.

Climate George’s mild Mediterranean type climate makes it possible to participate in outdoor activities throughout the year. Summer temperatures average 26˚C and winter temperatures average 14˚C in the daytime.
