South Africa Lodge Luxury Villa overlooking the Sabie River near Kruger
We’ve taken our cue from Mother Nature to create a lodge built ‘of the earth’, with natural materials which will only enhance the surrounding bush environment. The timeless design incorporates steel, wood, thatch, glass, water & sand. A sophisticated mid-century architectural contemporary theme defines the interiors, with bold furniture and edgy décor, ambient lighting, inferences of tribal design and highly textured finishes – all of which combine to make this Lodge an utterly sensory experience.
The interiors reflect an elegant balance between intelligent design and an organic expression of the earth. Light, sound, flow, wood, water and air weave into the golden thread of the lodge’s architectural inspiration.
Despite being well grounded, there is an ‘otherwordly’ quality to this Lodge, represented by the feather. Each of the Villas takes its name from an indigenous bird, and spectacular man-sized prints find pride of place throughout the lodge.

I have been to the lodge 3 times already (including our honeymoon in 2011) and will not even consider another lodge in Mpumalanga. We just returned from another 3 night visit in April 2016. It is simply THE most amazing place on earth! Patricia and her team look after you like you're absolute gold! The rooms are huge, ultra-luxurious and incredibly comfy, game drives well planned and informative (we saw the big 5 multiple times) and the service is most definitely THE best I have ever experienced! Nothing you need is too much for any of their staff members. We had Wilfred as our fabulous butler, Eunice as our meticulous housekeeper, and Mike and Joe as our fantastic Ranger and Tracker respectively. All of these people (and every other member of their staff) were incredible! ! We didn't want to leave as there's nothing out there that compares with the luxury lodge offers you. If you're looking for THE BEST experience of your life, then this lodge is most definitely the place to go!

We had the experience of a lifetime.. The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming, and all this while maintaining five star service. The guides and trackers are also world class. The concierge Tshepo is also a champion who brings the lodge to life with his sense of humour. Highly recommended!

Going on a safari has been on our bucket list for quite a few years. Staying at the lodge beat our expectations. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. Not one detail was missed. Our safari drives were made even better by our guide Mike and tracker Rector. We cannot thank them enough for giving us the experience of a lifetime to see a mother leopard and her baby. The lodge was beautifully appointed and the staff could not have been more accommodating to us all. A big shoutout to the chef for making a few picky eaters very happy. Overall, we couldn't have been happier to spend time with our family at the ivory lodge.
