Our Cottage is situated between the hills of the Burren and the southern coastline of Galway Bay between Kinvara and Ballyvaughan. The Village of Bell Harbour is surrounded by megalithic tombs such as Poulnabrone Dolmen, Celtic ring forts, medieval churches and castles.
Bell Harbour is a place where the visitors can refresh their spirits away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.

Explore this outlandish landscape - famous for its unique flora and fauna - by car, bike or hiking on its many hills. The green roads and bohreens are beautiful in their loneliness, each one revealing something magical and intriguing.
To experience, real peace and tranquillity enjoy an early morning stroll with the natural soundtrack of the dawn chorus.

Nearby is the Abbey of Corcomroe (Sancta Maria de Petra Fertili / St. Mary of the fertile rock) - founded by Dónal O Brien, King of Limerick, in 1194 for the Cistercian Monks - and extensive remains of the early Christian churches of Oughtmama.

It is one of the most peaceful places on earth. It lies surrounded by green fields and limestone hills and you can usually have the place to yourself if you stay awhile
However, the greatest attraction is the spectacular Aillwee caves. Discovered in 1944 by a local farmer, the caves are estimated to be 2 million years old. With the largest passage 600m long and an abundance of stalactites and stalagmites the Aillwee caves is a dream come true for the cave-lover and potholers.

The beaches and coastline are ideal for swimming, surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, boating and fishing.

The lively pubs and upmarket restaurants in the area are indeed a joy for both locals and visitors.
Close to the village is the restored Dun Guaire Castle. Built in the 16th century the castle is now open to the public to see many Irish traditions.

A short drive down the coast brings you to the majestic Cliffs of Moher, battling daily with the Atlantic ocean. They rise in places to over 200 meters.

Cottages, situated in Colman Valley at the foothills of the Burren, are two luxury self-catering holiday homes next door to each other, catering for eight people in each property makes Cottages suitable for groups up to sixteen.

There are 4 bedrooms. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms plus a Shower room with toilet and sink. Downstairs there is a twin room and a double room -ensuite. Main bathroom downstairs has a standard size bath. The sitting room has an open fire plus TV and Dvd player.
There are separate kitchen and utility room. In the kitchen there is a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and electric oven and hob. There is a patio door which opens out into the back garden. The utility has a washing machine and dryer. There is a toy box to help entertain the younger guests. There is also tourist information /leaflets on things to do and see.

  • The Hill of Knockanuarha located 5 km (3.1 miles) south-east of Kilkishen village, in East Clare. The main summit is 309 metres or 1014 feet.
